Miami

Miami is 1,200 miles (1,930 km) from North Texas, so we spread it over 3 days, which made it an easy drive!  We arrived the evening of New Year’s Day.

We’re staying in this cute cottage (again we are using Airbnb)DSC_0108in the charming, leafy,

historic area of Morningside, a few miles north of downtown Miami.

The homes date back to the 20s and 30s, each of them a little different style from the other.

Just around the corner, on the Biscayne Bay, is this lovely park, which we enjoy walking around almost every day.

I just love these trees!  Not sure what they are called, but need to look it up.

Also, just a couple miles away is the Design District and Wynwood, where we got a look at the well known Wynwood Walls.

Jouko wanted to get “up close and personal” with this gal!!

Everyone wants to see Miami Beach, right?  So we braved the traffic, but didn’t stay long as bad weather moved in (we’ll try again, but NOT on a weekend!).

Instead we went for some great Fish & Chips at Joe’s Stone Crab!
